Group Info

This group is dedicated to the take down of websites stealing the creations of web artists.

After the (unfortunately temporary) defeat of AxSoris and subsequent creation of others sites by the same people, Vixen525, who took on AxSoris, came to the conclusion that she couldn't take on all the sites alone.

She has researched the law significantly and has the knowledge on how to do this. But it takes a lot of work to get the necessary information for the legal aspects of copyright infringement. Protect your art and the art of others, join us in the battle against art theft!

Group Membership

Before you request membership to this group, you need to consider what that involves. If your sole interest is to keep updated on the latest sites to cause trouble, or to only report when you locate a site, then you should remain a watcher. If you request membership, you will be expected to provide at least minimal assistance in the takedown of these websites.

Now don’t be intimidated by that idea. I’m not saying you need to spend hours devoted to the research on the legal aspects of this or in writing out professional style letters to companies involved. There are plenty of ways to help out that vary in difficulty and time use, primarily in spreading the word. If you are a member, you will be expected to do at least one of the tasks involved on at least a semi-regular basis. Of course, it’s understandable when real life interferes with your ability to help, which is why I said “semi-regular” rather than “regular.”

To understand the tasks that are required to successfully take on and defeat these websites, I need to briefly explain how I handle these. Keep in mind this is a very brief summary, lacking a significant amount of the details in it. Don’t rely on this as how to take one on yourself. You will find information on what members do in the first submission in the Featured Folder.

Group Positions

Watchers are people who only want to remain informed but not participate
Members assist in ways considered minimal to moderate, primarily by spreading information.
Moderators are in charge of making sure things are in the appropriate folders and assisting with journals
Contributors assist in more advanced ways, such as helping people with DMCA forms, final steps in taking down sites using Harm Check, and helping to track down who's behind these sites.
Co-Founders are only the most trusted individuals. They have access to the group email and are trusted to maintain privacy with all data that includes personal information. They are involved in the final steps for taking down Copyright Infringement sites
Founder is the creator of the group and is involved in all aspects of the website eliminations. The founder is also the person who first took down AxSoris. Check the Journal Folder for more information on that event.

Websites Currently Under Investigation/Being Eliminated:
• AxSoris
• CarPatys
• Imagixs
• Worlize
• Kootation
• Quotepaty

Editor BEWARE
The journal talks about a user that takes preexising images (from pininterest, zerochan, pixiv, etc.), edits them, and sells them as commissions. They do not want to accept what they are doing is wrong, so maybe a little push in the right direction may have them change their mind from taking other's art to turn into their selling point.

This group doesn't seem active anymore, but I thought I might as well leave a warning here
galleryhip(dot)com steals lots of images off the internet, and has viruses/malware
i found one of my linearts there, and there's probably more.

The group may not be active, but I am. I've taken down or helped others take down 7 sites so far.

I happen not to be a member, as I do not stumbleupon art-thieving websites, but there are some I hear that take away money from commissions to support their own site, and thats a scam but I'm sure that isn't what you look for. umu

The site was something like ''Weebly'' or some name close to that. Its icon was a lineless corgi and I heard a signal boost via Tumblr.

Weebly is a site hosting service. If you want to target the thief, you're going to have to get the piece of the address before the "weebly.com" bit.

This has just been brought to my attention. spyke1985.deviantart.com/journ…
An art thief and someone who has been harassing a very nice person who has felt the need to leave DA because of this. The problems have been reported but DA appears to be very slow in dealing with this and so the situation has not been resolved.
Any assistance and support in reporting this would be welcome.
